Why the Stock RTT Mattress Isn't Built for Sleep · Comfort Camping Co.
The foam that came with your rooftop tent was designed to fold. That is its job. Compress down, pack flat, stay light enough that the tent opens and closes properly. Comfort was not the brief.
After a night or two on the road you feel it. The foam is thin, it bottoms out under your weight, and you wake up feeling like you slept on a yoga mat on a roof.
What we replace it with
High-density supportive foam — the same spec we use in our caravan mattress range. Cut to the exact interior dimensions of your specific tent model. Finished with a removable Tencel Knit cover that is breathable, temperature-regulating, and machine washable.
It feels like a proper bed. Because it is one, in a different shape.
Do I need to measure my tent?
No. Just send us your brand and model name and we look up the interior floor dimensions. If we cannot find them we will walk you through measuring in about two minutes.
Will it still fold and close?
Yes. We account for the fold in our thickness recommendations and confirm this when we quote. The mattress is designed to compress enough to close your specific tent.
