Why I Built Comfort Camping Co. · Chloe, Founder
Eight years in the custom furniture industry. I knew foam. I knew precision cuts. I knew what it took to make something that actually fit a space.
And I still could not find a mattress that fit my van.
Every option was either a generic rectangle that almost fitted, or an expensive import that took months and still came out wrong. I spent a weekend trip sleeping on something that felt like cardboard and woke up on day two furious enough to do something about it.
I made my own. Using the same suppliers I had worked with for eight years, I cut a mattress to the exact dimensions of my van — wheel arch cutouts and all. It fit perfectly. It was the best sleep I had ever had on the road.
That became Comfort Camping Co.
The idea is simple: every setup is different, so every mattress should be different. Cut to your dimensions. Your wheel arches. Your rounded corners. Your weird angled foot end that no standard size accounts for. Made by hand in Melbourne, by someone who has been cutting foam and soft furnishings for most of her working life.
That is still how every single mattress we make works today.
